Weird Thing #17 Begin Planning for Next Summer in September
Maybe this is just our way of holding on to summer. More likely, we’re so overwhelmed with school calendars and PTA forms that we fear we may never get organized again. Our solution: write every activity, meeting and potential playdate in our calendar, from now through next summer. The truth is, this super advanced planning probably isn’t such a bad idea. Every year our kids get smarter while we lose all ability to retain information. One mom we know has already planned grandparents visiting day for July 2010!

I actually put it all down in my Blackberry. No more writing and erasing and all that. Come on girls–if we can follow each other on twitter and facebook, surely we can book playdates on our PDAs! & then just text for confirmation and follow ups…sooo easy.
When I meet a mom who doesn’t have a PDA, then I’m completely stumped. Or better yet, one who hasn’t learned yet how to text. Wow. (I’m teaching a friend of mine from Brazil right now what a text is…she’s very scared of the whole process actually. It’s quite sad.)
So that’s where I’m at…anyone else?
xoxo Rachel
